Our GOALS
-
Dramatically reduce unnecessary contact with the criminal justice system which includes but is not limited to: unjust arrests, prosecutions, convictions, incarceration and collateral consequences that are based on personal identity, the physical location of the body, and socio-economic status.

-
Disrupt the ability of state and local criminal codes to target, and incarcerate, black and brown bodies through the use of the criminal justice system.

-
Dramatically increase the use of alternative intervention and response strategies that address issues of public safety and social justice through an anti-racism lens.

-
Influence the shifting narrative of public safety priorities from a criminal focus to a public health focus.
OUR ACTIONS
-
Conduct an extensive review of the current state and local criminal codes that result in the unnecessary arrest of individuals based on personal identity, the physical location of the body, and socio-economic status.

-
Make recommendations for which offenses should be reclassified, which behaviors and conduct should be decriminalized all together, and which methods or approaches other than the justice system should be implemented.
